Man against nature, hand in hand. Anyhow that is how I see it. It is hard not to see the match between your hand and the leaf. Even the direction is the same. I am going to have to hold my Iphone like you so that my finger doesn’t get into the picture. Love the diagonals is this image.
This is what I love about the camera phone and Instagram…I went out to the car to grab one of my guitars….I was in a hurry because it was raining. My car was parked underneath a maple tree that is finally losing its leaves….fall comes late to this neck of the woods….saw the fallen leaf on the hood of the car….and as I stood over it saw my reflection…..one shot and 5 minutes later I’m sharing the picture…..fun…..Craig
One response to this amazing image is that your shadow seems to be underneath the water’s surface, as if in a pond, with the leaf floating on top. It took me a couple seconds to orient to “reality” that the shadow is on the car’s windshield. Or perhaps it’s a reflection from the windshield?
Another reaction is that the shadow seems to be lurking and threatening the leaf, which is bright and “pure” and just out for a “stroll.” LOL
I agree with Wes about the fingers of the leaf and the fingers of your hand. Just wonderful – and so simple.
Thank you for being here…..another thing that really helps to make this work is the square….. the square supports having two main subjects very well where the rectangle can make two evenly weighted subjectas difficult to deal with in terms of having balance without it becoming static…..Craig
