Canon 5D MarkII f1.4 50mm lens ISO 200 f2.5@ 1/30th – handheld – Luther the Doberman Pinscher
Love the light and color triad, matches Luther’s melancholy mood.
Did you have to do much color work on this one?
That touch of pink on his lips pushes this over the top!
The original file was flatter than a pancake. I did a major levels adjustment and that brought out all the color. From there I desaturated and made some local contrast adjustments. Thank you for being here!… Craig
That one incredibly in-focus eye that seems to burst thru the screen is mesmerizing. I can hardly wrench my own eyes away from Luther’s to look around in the rest of the image! He sure looks like he’s longing to go outside and romp around! Or perhaps he’s been outside and is all worn out, but his mind wishes he could have lasted longer.
Except for the eye, everything else is so subtle and gentle – dreamy. The emotional mood of this image completely overwhelms any desires to comment on textures, composition, layers, colors, etc! Usually images don’t “hit” me this hard, emotionally!
Happy you enjoy this one…. thank you for all of the feedback and support….greatly appreciated…..Craig
