a common theme of crazy lens flares across these 3 shots. I’m getting flashbacks to the new Star Trek movie. Not too sure how well they stand up as individual images but the consistent coloration and themes work well to give the general atmosphere.
I like this colors in this image. I also like that this could be used as an ad either for a smoking product or as an ad against smoking. The image has plenty of room for text.
My first thought was “hat tip”, and I want to see/know the face behind the brim.
This is awesome.
I had spent quite a bit of time with it before I noticed that the brownish blob near the tip of the cigarette is someone’s face. I think that adds to the story of this woman smoking and drinking, though perhaps it’s equally compelling if she’s smoking and drinking alone.
Fabulous, This is so about story. So many race through my mind I don’t know where to stop. Thanks for the journey. And thanks for the great workshop on this lens, I feel honored to be one of the few that you have shown how to use it… Go Lensbaby….
Thank you for being here and thank you for the kind words about this one. It is a personal favorite from the last month of shooting. I took this at an open mic. The woman in the foreground was the girlfriend of one of the performers. I took many, many variations of this shot. The low light, slow exposure, and working the Lensbaby with a radical bend all added up to mean that getting anything close to sharp at all in this shot was a small miracle….. Craig
