Great image of Mr. Williams, Craig. I really love the lighting on the right side of his face and the details in the shadows. The background bokeh is also very nice. I also like the animation that is suggested in his hands.
Craig, the light that hits both sides of his face is wonderful. And the catchlights show up in his eyes. At first I wondered why you didn’t remove that blown-out background light oval just above his hand at the left. But then I realized that if that were removed, then the other background light shapes would assume too much “gravity and pull one’s attention away from the subject’s eyes, which are much darker in tone.
This is one image that doesn’t need color! Thanks again for introducing me to shooting in B&W during your October Composition workshop. :-)
