What a wonderful expression on Willie’s face. It is a kind and welcoming face. It makes me want to stop and get to know him. I am sure he has an interesting story to tell. This is such a great example of just how the background can serve to accentuate the subject.
Thank you Wes for the support…. its always greatly appreciated. A big thank you to Willie for being generous enought to collaborate with me on some portraits. Met him just like so many of the people I know in Savannah…. was a complete stranger that I asked to take a picture of….and have photographed him several times since. Its always an inspiring experience. Truly sad the pathetic, fear based stories we can make up about each other. But when you live in a culture that worships fear and uses it to enslave the mind what else can you expect. We can all do better and should. We owe it to ourselves and each other.
Altho I’ve never met Willie, this portrait makes me want to get to know him. I love the bokeh of the background, too and think I recognize where this is.
Does Willie play an instrument or do palm leaf weaving?
Thank you for being here and thank you for the question…. Willie is a writer… he shared some of his poetry with me the second time I photographed him….Craig
I’m so glad to see you back, Craig! Your images are always an inspiration, as well as your work on TME. Wish you all the best!
Hey Daniel,
